If you have a criminal record or have been charged with a criminal offence then you can get denied entry to the US. This can be a very embarrasing and costly experience if you have already paid for a vacation and are traveling with friends and family only to find out that you cannot enter the US.
Once a pardon or record suspension is granted you should be safe to travel without the worry of being denied entry. If you are denied entry to the US then you need a US Entry Waiver which is an expensive and lengthy process and you will require the waiver for the rest of your life.
