Ever since the Federal Government changed the laws governing Pardons in Canada under Bill C-10, there has been a backlog of applications that have yet to be processed.
This delay is unfortunate because most people who are applying for Pardons or Record Suspensions are in need of the Pardon for employment or travel purposes. In many cases, until the Pardon is granted they are not getting work or able to travel to the US.
We receive hundreds of emails and phone calls from people who are concerned with the delays at the government level and how it is affecting their lives in a negative way.
The good news is that the Government has recently taken some measures to improve the speed to which they grant a pardon or record suspension. The following article from the CBC talks about some of these changes:
Each day we help hundreds of Canadians to navigate the complicated process of obtaining a Canada Pardon or US Entry Waiver.
